The program opens with the orchestral suite from Erich Wolfgang Korngold'sThe Sea Hawk (1940), a key figure in the birth of great Hollywood symphonism. It continues with George Gershwin'sRhapsody in Blue, performed by pianist Pietro Beltrani, which serves as a bridge between the concert hall and the world of film.
The second half of the evening features contemporary Hollywood soundtracks, including the Star Wars Suite by John Williams, the Lord of the Rings Suite by Howard Shore, and the Pirates of the Caribbean Suite by Hans Zimmer.
