Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations - Jordi Savall. The Orchestra of the Ospedale della Pietà

76th Malatestiana Music Festival - Symphonic concerts at the Galli Theatre

Thursday 11 December 2025

Time: at 9pm

Music

Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations is inspired by the Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, an institution that became famous in the 17th century for the musical activities carried out by orphans. The girls studied music under the guidance of great masters, such as Antonio Vivaldi, and the orchestra achieved international fame. Since 2019, through auditions and advanced training academies, young musicians under the age of 39 have been selected to create a female orchestra. The project pays tribute to the tradition of the Ospedale and to Vivaldi, offering an initial programme featuring The Four Seasons and other concerts. The ensemble brings together twenty talented performers from eight countries, will be led by Jordi Savall and will feature violinist Alfia Bakieva on stage. The aim is to create a new modern “musical hospital” dedicated to the study and dissemination of the repertoire from 1600 to 1850.
